INTERNET DATING AT ITS BEST/WORST
Speaking of single, many are actually single in the truest sense of the word (never before married). The younger the dating site, the more "single" folks. By the time daters get into their forties, most of them have been married for the first time. You have to ask yourself, why is this person single (never before married) at forty or fifty something? The answer may well be that they are still single because they are smarter than the rest of us, or they may be fussy bachelors or bachelorettes who have not yet found their princesses/princes.
Just because someone isn’t married by forty doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t a great person, but there could be issues. Issues is a nice way of saying the person is nuts. The next time you are at a bar, ask the bartender if you could have a bowl of mixed issues to snack upon, and see what he brings you.
A down side of the older single person is that they may have gotten comfortable with living alone. This could make the adjustment to sharing a life unnatural for one who has developed certain habits not conducive to cohabitation.
On the other side, this person could be a fabulous catch in that they haven’t been burned out by a shallow or toxic relationship, i.e. they may be ripe for and appreciative of a meaningful marriage.
Many single people are not willing to settle for a mediocre existence just to say they were married. That is much smarter than having children with some nitwit and making their life and that of their children screwed up.
Just be aware that there could be "issues."
However, in recent times (the last fifteen minutes) marriage is no longer the institution it used to be. Never being married no longer has the stigma it used to. The old maid is a relic from yesteryear. There are many more people choosing to remain single and loving every minute of it, reaping the dual benefits of dating and solitude on an as needed basis.
If you are looking for a meaningful relationship that culminates in marriage, the single person who prefers "single" may leave you disappointed.
If you have no interest in a relationship with this type of person, you should have a discussion early on to determine if this person is right for you.
There are divorced and widowed who feel the same about not wanting to get "hitched." Just is, the odds of a single person staying single may be stronger than with those other choices.
Older single people are clever, they will not have to go through a messy divorce and such,
Anyway, thanks for the post
